A new video by Khuli Chana, a South African emcee whose first album ‘the Motswakoriginator’ (2009) featured lyrics in Motswako, a slang based in Setswana, English and other languages.  His history in SA hip hop goes back to the early nineties when he was active with Jazzzadaz and Morafe. More recently he scooped up some prizes at the Channel O Music Video Awards, Hype Music Awards and even SATMA (South African Traditional Music Award) for ‘best vernacular hip hop album’.
Khuli’s nineties roots come out in this new track and video, ‘Tswa Daar’. Meanwhile, the Motswakoriginator album has been reissued as a ‘Deluxe edition’ with a bonus DVD.
