- The hottest gist in the entertainment circuit now is the OPENING OF THE AFRIKAN SHRINE by Femi Kuti, the place is waoh!!!! The Afrobeat icon is working seriously round the clock to see that the opening date of 13th October is feasible. He explained that the new shrine will house a functional library that will be stocked with books on all aspects of African history:

"We're going a step further in our resolve to internationalise Afrika Shrine. It will not only serve as the home base of African music and workshop; but a place Africans and Europeans can come and read and learn more about the history, culture and religion of the propagation of African Civilisation", Femi confided in African Beatz. The Afrikan Shrine will also be the headquarter of Movement Against Second Slavery (MASS), a political pressure group he founded.

- Nigeria was celebrating her 40th anniversary on 1st October, and their was a big Jeans carnival at the Lekki Beach. Partly sponsored by Legend Extra Stout and Wrangler Jeans, it featured big hip hop headz.

-The current gist in town is all about Channel O filming of "On the Street" in Lagos come October. The filming is from 3rd - 10th October, and its all about youth culture. They will be interviewing celebrities like radio-tv presenters, fashion designers, musicians, generally people in the showbiz world.

-Cool FM 96.9 will be having their second year anniversary on 6th and 7th October. Dr. Alban will perform at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos, possibly with Kofi Olomide (Congolese ndombolo star) on the programme.

-There is an award coming up on the 30th of September, called PABA (Pan African Broadcasting Award) meant for broadcasters in and around africa. It will be beamed on the satellite to about 30 african countries live.

-Dr. Alban, the Sweden based Nigerian reggae star will be having a concert in Nigeria. It's his first in the country since he started his music career. It is worth noting that he was the highest selling artiste in Sweden last year and one of the chart toppers in Europe. The concert will be held at the prestigious Polo Club in Ikoyi, Lagos.

-The popular Lekki beach resort was blastin' on Sunday 3 September with the Summer Slam, put together by Rhythm 96.7 FM and DTD Lekki. The show featured prominent hip hop artists like REMEDIES, TONU TETUILA, THE PLANTASHUN BOIS, RUFF RUGGED AND RAW, HAZARDOUS, PAUL PLAY, THE BLACK REVERENDZ among other playaz.
