fnaire-21-16-19

Fnaire is Morocco’s most popular hip hop group. They are from Marrakech and fuse traditional gnawa music with hip hop beats and raps in Arabic (Darija, the Moroccan dialect). In June they performed at festival Mundial and dj 360 & J4 went to talk to them. In a short interview they speak about their brand of music which they call ‘traditional hip hop’, and about whether they feel free to talk about anything they want in their lyrics.

This episode was recorded for the Dutch version of African hip hop radio for FunX Lijn5. Presentation is in Dutch but the interview is in English. Third hour is a non-stop mix across the spectrum of African music worldwide, presented by dj 360.
