African hip hop radio – December 2011 with Vieira

The last African hip hop radio show of the year 2011 was a 360 degree look around the landscape of music from Africa and the diaspora with Amal and Dj Threesixty.

Starting out with the mellow sounds of Asmara All Stars (Eritrea) we introduce some new tunes and sounds like the latest by young hit maker Wizkid from Nigeria, Senegalese-French soccer player turned rap star Sefyu and a song from Mensa’s new album. Amal looks back to Somali music from the seventies and eighties, playing a track by the legendary group Iftin. Cape Verdean Dutch artist Vieira joins on the phone to talk about his new song ‘Nos e que nos’.

The first African hip hop radio show of 2012 will be streamed live this coming wednesday and will be available before the weekend.
