Str8Buttah gets first plaque at SMVA

Str8buttah, the Lagos based hiphop and Africanhiphop.com forum regulars, on August 1st took their first plaque at the Sound City Music Video Awards for Last Standing track shot by R Cube – a rapping member of the group. Str8buttah beat fellow nominees like Modenine,OD, Gino and DJ Jimmy Jatt to clinch the award.
American rapper Mims and South Africa’s Jozi were in attendance at the awards hosted by Nigeria’s finest singer, Darey. Str8buttah consist of R Cube, Teckzilla, Mr Rah, Deck, Enigma and XYZ. Their album, branded ‘Str8 from da art’, will be released this month with a release party billed for the last weekend of August, 2009.
